On the Kaikoura Peninsula

A wonderful stretch of coastline.    There is a legend about when the Maori god Maui went fishing, and about his arguments with his brothers.  But at the end of the story Maui's catch -  a giant fish - became the North Island and his canoe became the South Island.    And the seat within his canoe was the Kaikoura peninsula....
