Long road home...

The journey home from the footy has got longer...not in distance but in time. The reason for this? Bus lanes! Now, I'm not against the idea of public transport per se and the need for it to be efficient, but I fail to see why for an hour after a major event (Leicester has two big sporting stadiums in the city centre) the bus lanes can't be de-regulated for traffic flow. Before anyone starts on the "what about the bus travellers?" Soap box can I just say my journey from the footy used to get me home at around 5.50 and yesterday it was almost 6.30 when I got in. The buses (not that there were many) I think I counted four were all empty. The traffic at a standstill. It would take no more than an hour of de-regulation for the bus lanes to sort it out.

I'm just pleased I had a night out with friends to look forward to...even if my shower and hair-washing was done at double quick time. We were the last in the restaurant and still giggling as we left :)
