White Pines at Sebago Lake

During the second day of a photo workshop in January, we were asked to take pictures that captured what was communicated in written slips of paper with various one sentence statements typed on them. One of the ones my team had referred to something like "abstraction from a Japanese garden." I love pines and there were some gorgeous ones in the open area outside the building where the class was given so I thought slowing down the shutter speed (1/8)  (on what was a snowy day) might come up with something interesting. In class my partner, a far more experienced photographer than I, did some cropping and other work on the image for the class, but the picture here is basically the pre-edit version. It reminded me of a Japanese watercolor.
