Happy New Year to the Trees!

This week has been a celebration of trees in the Jewish calendar.  This is the time of year when buds starts to form with the onset of spring.

We humans can also celebrate along with the trees. After all, the Torah says, “Man is a tree of the field.” We are nurtured by deep roots, as far back as Abraham and Sarah; we reach upwards to the heavens while standing firmly on the ground; and when we do all this right, we produce fruits that benefit the world—namely, our good deeds.

Here the kids are using some fruits and making crafty prints.  Meanwhile the adults were eating all the yummy fruits.  We had a "seder" -order- where we ate some seasonal fruits.  The older children lead the "service" and the younger kids enjoyed some of the  treats on offer.

I love this festival as it reminds me that Winter is on its way out and Spring is around the corner.

Sorry for my last comment from yesterday. I meant to say thanks for the comments from my previous blips.  But once again thanks for yesterdays stars and comments and I will get a chance to reply.  Meanwhile dinner was a huge success and the meal was truly scrumptious.
