West Mainland Coast

Last night we attended a last minutes arranged function in the Peedie Kirk.  Today we dashed out to Birsay and walked along the coast to the Bay of Skaill, approx 6 miles.  This view is looking back north to Marwick Head.  It was windy with lots of salt spray in the air.   We ended up at the opening day of the Birsay Bay Tearooms which was well supported and realised toasties and cheese scones etc.  Moyra and I discussed Booker prize winners, as we inevitably do.  It was Moyra’s birthday.  God rest Nan Shepherd.
