Last Boat To Glenelg
The main reason for our trip was to visit Mo's aunt Una, who's recently been unwell. Her house, which is in a brilliantly windswept location, is where Mo's dad was born - or so I'd thought. In fact, all the family used to live in the corrugated iron building that's now used as a shed - hard to imagine.
On the way back, we thought we'd see if we could catch the Kylerhea ferry, which would cut many miles off our trip. We knew the last boat was at 6, so we went as quickly as we could on single track roads though some fairly rugged - but stunning - country.
We made it just in time! But when I asked the guy taking the money if there was a service on Sunday, I discovered we'd not only got the last ferry of the day - it was the last ferry of the year.
