Timeless scene of ship building

Imagine this without the cars - could be any of the past few centuries. 8 or 9 boats were being built on the sandy shores of the estuary in south east Gujerat.  We entered the port proper where there were 3 large ships in the far distance and were chased by a port officer shouting I wasn't to take photos.  But he took photos of my passport and visa and allowed me to take phots of the fisherment sorting their nets for tomorrow morning and the birds and stray dogs who attended them.  Strange really for when I was outside the gates I could take the same pics with impunity.  Terrible dose of the d&v last night but well sorted for the long journey back to Udaipur with the trusty kaolin and morph without which I never travel.  The roads were less busy because there was a rest day for heavy vehicles.  We saw a 'wild' blue bull hunkered down with the Holy Ones in the center of a village - probably been brought up as an orphan with a cow for a mother. Also saw a jackal in the headlights as well as welcome sight of two of the now rare vultures.

Do have a look at the nose ring sported by the tribal lady - the black tape or threads holding gold earrings or nose rings are against the demons - on the Buzzywigs site
