Winter Berries

Copt HIll at Houghton, reputedly one of the resting places for St Cuthbert's coffin as the monks retreated from Lindisfarne because of Viking raids. A stand of ancient trees known locally as the Seven Sisters... rumours of mesolithic goings on too. It is especially beautiful at sunset.
