Reflection at the D'Orsay
We visited the Musée d'Orsay today, with our friend Guenter (see the link I posted yesterday). The only special exhibition we saw was one of their acquisitions since 2008, which I did not find inspiring, I have to say. The commentary in the show emphasized that most of the acquisitions are intended to fill gaps in the overall collection--but I doubt if most of those are of interest to the average visitor to the museum.
We ate lunch on the 5th floor, as we have done before--it was quite passable. This was the view through the clock toward the Seine, reflected in a very large piecemeal mirror on one side of the restaurant.
