Birthday Tulip

Yesterday was my birthday whilst we were away for the weekend on the singing course.  Apart from the whole hotel restaurant knowing it was my birthday (through a resounding chorus of the well known song!) I was given a beautiful bouquet of tulips.  Here I have zoomed in on one bloom to show the shape of the petals.

Tulips are stunning flowers and not always appreciated for their simplicity.  I hope to create an abstract from these tulips - maybe a kaleidoscopic image. Plenty of time for this on my long journeys in the next few days.
