black and blue world

. . . and white of course. The shadows this afternoon were pronounced and graphic, extending the image of the trees into beautiful strong patterns. It's been a lovely day, a day of hiking in the deep snowy woods, and relaxing with my new friend. There was a two year old on the scene today - such a joyful reminder of the constant renewal of life. It takes so little to make a two year old laugh or look in wonder at something. I felt honored when the little guy held his small hand up to mine to hold. 
Lots of monochromatic postings recently, but such is the outdoor world here in the winter.
