At the GEM SHOW
I’m browsing through a stuffed-with-jewelry booth,
Many pieces made from old watch parts.
I’m bending down for a closer look,
At a snazzy green bracelet,
Loaded with springs and gears.
Before my hand can reach for a try-on.
I’m eyes-to-eyes with a disembodied doll.
Her hatchet chopped hair.
Her pouty lips.
Her extra large clouded eyes,
Staring back at me.
Yikes.
