Sun and Rain
The walkers met as usual at 10 a.m., but because it was raining 19 of us headed to a local café to have a hot drink before heading out on a walk. As it had stopped raining at 10.45 a.m. only 11 of the 19 were brave enough to walk along the Newcastle Track from the Luggate end. At about mid day the heavens opened, and out poured all sorts of weather, so we decided to do a runner back to the cars.
This photo shows the walkers heading back to the cars in the sunshine which momentarily came out after we made the decision to head for home. I think it is called 'Murphy's Law'. That is the Clutha River with the willow trees on the right.
We had our lunch back at the car park, then headed for home. Of course now the sun is shining beautifully, but there is a VERY cold wind. We were all very glad to get out in the fresh air, and enjoyed the camaraderie which goes with the walk each Monday.
