Wild

No, not this: we went to see the film of Wild, Cheryl Strayed's account of walking the Pacific Crest Trail. Our advice: skip the film and read the book instead. The film wasn't terrible, but it lacked drama and tension ... and surprisingly, the scenery was rather boring. Plus Reese Witherspoon looked simply too well-fed, comfortable, and clean, even after two months' hiking. Her contract probably specified that she shouldn't be seen sweaty and dirty.

Afterwards we had dinner in the bistro at the Hotel Terminus, which has this rather grand foyer.
