Day out in Edinburgh

Today we went to the National Portrait Gallery. Stopped off in Artisan Roast  on the way. W took part in the Children's detective event that was on. They have Portrait Detectives for 4-11 every other Sunday. Quite good fun hurrying around the gallery with my felt moustache coming unstuck at seemingly regular intervals.

These lace garments were part of an exhibition on the ground floor called Beauty by Design | Fashioning the Renaissance. We also managed about 5 minutes of the bp portrait award 2015 before half the party became disinterested.

Later we left the kids with the Grandparents and saw BIrdman which was superb.
