Lord Ancrum's Bridge.

The bridge takes you from the grounds of Newbattle Abbey into Ancrum's Wood which is heavily populated with yew trees. I have taken Merlin for walks there but he has started eating sticks, as yet they haven't done him any harm, but then he hasn't eaten any yew sticks yet and they definitely would. Most people seem to think that it's only the berries that are toxic when, in fact they are the only part of the tree that aren't; if you try it, remember that the seeds inside the fruit contain a deadly poison; you won't catch me with a yew berry in my mouth any time soon.
