Herons take flight

The stars were beautiful this morning as I drove in to work.  So I was a bit surprised when I could hear the rain falling outside my office window later in the morning.

The sky had turned deep grey and the light was very muted.

Well there goes any chance of catching some light this afternoon for the daily blip.

Fortunately the rain passed by early afternoon and the skies mostly cleared.

Just enough that I could visit these nesting herons.  It wasn't me that startled them.

But fortunately I was there to catch the beginning of their journey.
