Ramsgreave
No rams just a few ewes with longridge? off in the background. If there is a greave here I don't know. For that matter what's a fold or a syke I reckon a brow is easily recognisable but why a range when its not a bunch of mountains. As for the English laughing at Irish place names at least if you knew the language you would know how to pronounce them I mean Oswaldstwistle I defy anybody who isn't local to pronounce that correctly.
I forgot Thwaite, Clough and Wick, oh the arogance of the other English speaking nations like Ireland, America, Canada and Australia, imagining we spoke the same languge. When we struck off on our own the English evolved their language into an indecipherable mess.
Some day I might even share the story of "quite" and the my wifes realisation that we spoke different dialects and that while she thought I was insulting her new hair do, I was in fact complimenting it.
