Traffic in Patan

Patan, the southern part of Kathmandu, is a calmer place to stay than Thamel, the tourist hub in the centre. But when you get out onto the main roads the traffic is still busy, busy. Crossing the road is an act of faith, and the pollution is high. It is nonetheless vibrant and ever-fascinating. Just look for example at the man transporting boxes of snacks on his bike!
