Damsel to be

Peering in the little tank we keep the pond weed in for photosynthesis experiments I noticed Life! and not just the expected pond snails either.
This tiny 6mm long Damselfly nymph was in there too. Not one for missing a blip opportunity I quickly scooped him out with a handy table spoon, popped him in a beaker and took a few shots.
I know this isn't the best photograph of a damselfly nymph, but the light wasn't that good, and he would insist on swimming to the opposite side of the beaker. You can however see his prehensile labium (extendible jaw beneath the head), and the leaf-like gills at the end of the abdomen.
I am not sure which damselfly this will become as we have both Large red, and blue tailed on our pond.........can't wait to photograph damsels again :-)))))
