Day 2 of my leave, and again I found it much easier to stay snuggled up in bed than to get up!
To be fair to myself, I did get up at 6am to make sandwiches for G, who was heading north to work in Inverness for the rest of the week, while his friend takes time off to arrange his father's funeral. However, as soon as he left at 7am I hotfooted it back to bed, with my ginger hairy hot water bottle, and a cup of coffee, and snoozed / read until 10am.
This book is brilliant! It's like Driving Miss Daisy crossed with The 100-Year Old Man Who Jumped Out A Window crossed with Mississipi Burning crossed with Harold Fry crossed with Cannery Row!
I cannot recommend it too highly, and my only regret while reading it is that every page I turn is one page nearer to the end of the story.
Tomorrow will be my last lazy morning, as I'm going to Burntisland on Thursday first thing to pick up the Bandits. They are on their half-term holiday, so I'm bringing them back here until Saturday for a wee holiday.
Of course, when this was arranged I didn't realise I was going to be a single grandparent for the majority of their time here. Ach, no problem I'm sure!
Now, you must excuse me - my pink salmon fillets with lemon butter and dill are ready (thank you Mr Lidl), and I might manage another couple of pages before G phones to tell me what his hotel is like .........
