Birthday flowers

Not mine, I hasten to add. Mum was 90 last Thursday but had to postpone celebrating as she has just fractured two more vertebrae, and a tooth, and fell over on Sunday. On impulse, I jumped in the car this morning and drove to Cambridge, and regretted going via M42 as the holdups where M6 meets M1 were pretty horrible with a new junction being built all around. Mum was a little surprised when I turned up on the doorstep at 7.00 pm as I hadn't told her I was coming. I admire her stoicism. Tough old bird, to use her own description.
