Ditch Egret

Occasionally, usually after or during a rain, we may see an egret walking around hunting in one of the drainage ditches along side the road way.
We jokingly refer to them as "ditch egrets", although I'm sure they would be appalled to be referred to in that term.
"I am NOT a ditch egret!" I expect one would say. "I happen to be here now because I think I saw a frog or fish moving down there, but I certainly am no ditch egret."
Anyway, I saw this one today on my way back from the grocery store, stopped and grabbed one quick shot out the car window as he eyed me suspiciously, and then I was on my way leaving the egret to his business, whatever that may be.
