Cloud Inversion On The MacGillycuddy Reeks
I set the alarm clock for 4.30am and headed off out the door at 5.15am and arrived at the trail head at 6am. I climbed through dense fog in the darkness for the first hour before finally punching through it into a brightly lit starry sky. My aim was to reach the summit by the dawn. It was spectacular and a great climb. I got this shot as I was half way across Cummenapeasta Ridge and it shows the outline of The Big Gun and Cruach Mor in the fog below. The mountain range in the distance looks like an island in a sea of fog.
