Italian Style

I went to the Portland Art Museum today to see the Italian Style exhibition which is visiting from the V&A Museum in London.  It was an interesting show, post-war fashion, one Vespa and one Ferrari, no furniture... Not enough menswear and ready-to-wear was a small part, only a couple of photographs on Benetton and a small thing of Fiorucci, Moschino.  There were some lovely shoes but could have been more.  ;-)

No photographs permitted beyond the main hall pictured here and a wonderful stairwell with a (temporary) Pucci print on the window.  Emilio Pucci attended Reed College here in Portland and formed the college's first ski team (he was an Olympic skier) and also began designing and manufacturing athletic/ski wear in Portland, more info here if interested.

Mild, calm and dry after yesterday's weather antics.  One casualty in the garden, a new daphne bush that had been battered in the last storm was felled again.
