Ticket to Ride!
My cousin introduced my family to this game about a year ago. When he first brought it for us to play, I wasn’t sure that I was going to like it. It looked complicated. After we played the first game, I started to get the hang out it and I really liked it! You can play with between 2 and 5 people. Each person gets 45 trains matching the color of their mover piece. The game board looks like a map of the United States and has paths connecting cities to cities across the country. Each player is given 3 destination cards and 4 color cards. You need to keep at least 2 of your destination cards. The destination cards have point values and if you complete the path that is on the card by the end of the game you get those points, failure to complete the path results in subtracting the points. In order to lay trains on the board, you need to have color cards that match the spaces on the board. Each turn the player can either draw new cards or lay trains on the board. You also receive points for laying trains on the board and a running score is kept around the perimeter of the board. At the end of the game you add and/or subtract your points to find your final score, and the person with the highest score wins. We have played it a lot and for my birthday, my cousin bought our family the game. Every once and a while my mom and I will play too. I enjoyed this game so much that I even got the app on my phone and now I can play it wherever I go!
