How long? How long?

I've been waiting so long for my amaryllis to open that I'd forgotten what colour it was supposed to be.  I'm not prejudiced but I have been wondering why all the red ones came into bloom weeks ago and my lovely white one is only just about beginning to open.  It looks like it's gearing up to be opening in all its glory while we are away...  It's very top heavy so might need some assistance to stay upright.

I'm looking forward to seeing it developing.
