Home at last!
After an horrendous week our precious girl is finally home again. It all started on Monday when Violet developed a very high temperature and was clearly unwell. Despite 3 calls to the GP's surgery, (and a call to 111 who recommended she be seen by a doctor) no one was able to see her. Eventually we decided to consult a private GP who recommended that she should go to our nearest casualty department as the source of infection was not entirely clear. And so began a very long night for Violet's Mummy and Daddy. They arrived at 7pm and by the early hours of the morning, were told that she needed to be admitted but they had no beds. They were offered a number of hospitals (some so far away that it was beyond ridiculous). Finally a bed was available at a hospital relatively near and so she was taken there.
A UTI infection was eventually diagnosed and strong intravenous antibiotics administered. This evening she was allowed home from the wonderful hospital who were able to take her, much to the relief of all. She must go back for the next three days to have more antibiotics - hence the heavily bandaged arm to protect the canula needed to give them.
I can't express how happy we are to have our brave little soldier home!
