An announcement...

I'd like to announce that my expectant satsuma successfully gave birth to a little baby satsuma this afternoon on my desk. The baby was delivered by C-section (well, peeling) and weighed a couple of grams. I'm pleased to report that both mother and child are doing well, or at least they were, up until the point that I ate them.

But seriously - how freaking cool is that - a little baby satsuma inside the satsuma proper - like little Matryoshka dolls! It was a proper little satsuma too - it has its own wee individual segments. It's quite possible that these are entirely common, but in my sheltered existence, I've never seen one, so I thought it was pretty cool.
