Having a drink

I needed some retail therapy this morning so popped to Cwmbran Town Centre to buy some clothes.   After a wander and buying some tops I decided to go to Llantarnam Lakeside to see if there were any birds there.

I wasn't disappointed as I spotted this female swan.  I watched her for quite some time as she was collecting twigs and other bits and bobs to make a nest.  She worked deftly and precisely, with her partner looking on, it was quite a sight to see. They seemed oblivious to the fact that I was there so I blipped away and got this image.

I'll have to go back in a week or so's time to see how she's getting on.
