Fire in the Chiricahua Mountains

We hiked in the amazing Chiricahua landscape. While we walked I imagined how hard it must have been for the American soldiers to track down the Apache in such a forbidding and rugged place. Last summer's fire was much in evidence. Whole hillsides were devastated and forests reduced to ash.
