Pied Little Shag

These little birds are quite common though we don't see them often in the bay - this one only my second seen in the last year. They are variable in colour, and can be pied or not pied........this is a juvenile . Maori name Kawau means 'to quarrel' and is generic to all the Shags/Cormorants.
