Papa Smurf

Leevi had his penkkarit today. It was his last official school day at the Pirkkala upper secondary school. Now abiturs will have one month to prepare for their last matriculation examination tests (the first test will take in place on March 9th). On penkkarit students wear costumes - at Pirkkala they had a fictional character theme. Leevi disguised himself as Papa Smurf.

Me and hubby went to see the parade of lorries (at 12:00-13:00) where the happy final-year students drive across the city shouting slogans and throwing candy at passers-by. We met also my sis and my parents there.

Most Smurfs are said to be about 100 years old, but at the advanced age of 542, Papa is the third oldest Smurf and the leader of all Smurfs. Despite his age, he is still quite energetic. Easily distinguishable from all the other Smurfs, Papa Smurf has a bushy white beard and is typically dressed in red pants and a matching red cap.
