I took the afternoon off work and travelled down to Sheffield University for a presentation by Gloria Elliott (Chief Executive) and Lisa Lavia (Managing Director) of the Noise Abatement Society.

The meeting, which was held in the rather grand office of The Chancellor, was attended by selective regional Chartered Institute of Environmental Health members and other distinguished professors and guests of the university and from the field of public health.

This is Gloria. I last met Gloria and Lisa at the Society's  John Connell Awards in London back in 2009. Was it really that long ago? It seems like yesterday.

The Noise Abatement Society's objectives are  to raise awareness of, and find solutions to, noise pollution and pollutants related to solving noise issues, for example light disturbance and air pollution.
