SNOOKS
This is a statue of Snooks, a dog who belonged to a Doctors Robin and NoraAcheson, who worked in Aldeburgh, Suffolk for many years.
The original bronze statue was stolen in 2003 and locals raised money for a replacement. (Which I think this one is). Then 10 years later, someone found the original Snooks in an antique shop, and this, so I've read, is situated in the grounds of a local hospital.
Why Snooks?
Apparently the doctors were keen travellers and Snooks was a favourite dish they discovered in Africa..
