The Eye...of the Tiger
Since we were going out to lunch, I went out to the ocean early. The sun was not on my side, so I got a lot of silhouette shots. But, I was proud of myself for getting this bird, because I had to walk right past him/her before I could turn around and shoot with the sun at my back.
My girlfriend (wife) is going home to frigid Michigan tomorrow, and returning sometime in March. It's different around here without her.
At my first stop this morning, I had my camera glued to my face, and was shooting a little blue heron. A super-sneaky dog came up on me, and licked me in the calf. I'm lucky it was friendly. I took its picture, but it was one ugly dog...so it didn't even make the Flickr page. Scared me, tho.

It was real nice today (65F and sunny), but we are expecting a cold front to come through. Still, I guess it's better than the -9F that Lisa is going home to. YEECCHH!
I hope this pelican is OK. I don't like the looks of that lump in its throat. Perhaps something stuck in there?
