The day I met Steve Strange

Written 13/02/15 The day after Steve Strange passed away.

It was such a thrill to meet Steve Strange, he was so complimentary about my singing and we spoke a number of times on the phone afterwards, we discussed working together on something but the timings were wrong, he was very down to earth and very sweet, I can't believe he's gone, what a talent, I am so lucky to have met him xxx


This was a very special day, I was on the same stage in Leicester Square as Boy George and Steve Strange, 2 of my biggest inspirations from my teenage years, we also had Stewie and Lee with us and Boogaloo Stu hosting, Phil Marriott was there too as well as Cliff Slapper, Frank Noon and Florence and Ruby and Isaac, and to cap it all we were able to take our kids that day as well with our au pair at the time Adrianna, they were only 9 and 6 and delighted when Boy George taught them some rude hand gestures which they then used all day and have never forgotten ;-) I also met Zee Asha for the first time! What an amazing day.
