Graffiti

This lunchtime I went to a lecture on medieval church graffiti. Lincolnshire is one of six counties currently recording its church graffiti so that one day it can be studied in more detail. I had fun learning about mason's marks, merchant's marks, merels and mass dials with my buddy Alison.

What's really great is how little we know about the whys and whos. So good to know there's still fascinating stuff to uncover about the past.

This dude appears on a wall in Gonerby church, Lincolnshire.
