Hello Burkina, the land of two-wheeled transport!
I haven’t yet managed to snap a photo of the sheer amount of bikes and motorbikes in transit during rush hour, but it is really a sight to see. Add to that of course the fact that 2-wheelers make up their own rules on the road. I am happy not to have witnessed any accidents, but i am told there are many. It is not uncommon to see a mother or father with all her kids on the bike with her, in front in back... people are regularly two to a bike, helmets are few and far between...and the amount of cumbersome things people managed to travel with on their bikes, either on their lap or on their shoulder, in this, they are quite talented. The women look so regal and straight backed on their bikes in their beautifully colored pagnes, almost as though they were on a regal throne rather than on a motorbike.
