From the dark corner.....

One day my prints will come.....

No it's not a spelling mistake. It's funny the things you remember when you are sat around waiting.

One of the programmers when I was working in the Operations Section used to often walk into our office singing 'One day my prints will come!' while she waited for her latest program listing to appear. I was only 16 then and I feel about 159 today.

Yes. I feel 159 and a daft old bat too...

When I went to bed last night, my TK Maxx long socks felt unusually tight. It was only when I pulled them off that I saw I had chubby feet! At the end of my sparrow legs, they looked quite peculiar. Anyway, I dragged my gigantic feet into bed and had a strange night dreaming I had turned into Henry the VIII with gout or perhaps I had a DVT / blood clot after last Sunday's flight and would be as dead as a dodo by the morning.

No improvement by morning unfortunately but at least I wasn't a dodo and hadn't sprouted a big ginger beard overnight. No rude remarks please!

I was a bit worried and phoned the doctor at 8:45 and was relieved when I got an appointment for 11:15. Imagine my horror, when I realised I couldn't get my boots on later and had to go to the doctor in my slippers?

Fortunately, they aren't pink fluffy things with fur or pom poms and I wasn't too conspicuous walking the short distance round the corner into the surgery. I didn't have to wait long. As soon as I took my socks off, Dr Jheeta gave a couple of unsympathetic squeezes and then asked if I'd been wearing too tight socks. My face flushed up to the roots of my hair as I babbled about my TK Maxx socks that I hadn't worn since yesterday. He was struggling to keep a straight face but checked my blood pressure and listened to my chest just to make sure.

He was hurrying me out of the door before he collapsed laughing I think, telling me I'd be fine in a couple of days.

What must he think of me and mom? Years ago, mom had gone to see Dr Jheeta worried about a pain in her chest and been sent away being told her bra was too tight!

Oh the shame!

Oh well. Better to be safe rather than sorry. I just pray I can get my boots on to go to Stratford for Abbot Ale and bird nuts tomorrow... I am NOT wearing my slippers again.

This pigeon is called Cyril and he is rather handsome! No idea what happened to Lucky and Eric. You will see Cyril has a robin behind him at the bottom left I didn't notice when I took the picture.
