Hello Mr. Sun

I don't think I've ever noticed this strange face at the back of this statue near St. Giles...or maybe I've seen it and not really paid it any mind. Anyhow it caught my eye this morning on my way to work. It looks like it's supposed to depict the sun, but it also has snakes slithering away from it's head...not sure. It was a beautiful morning as you can see, two more days of work and then I'm off and I can't wait!
