Bergisel Ski Jump, Innsbruck

The Jump #2 

Following on from Monday night's excitement we thought we would have a rest day today and visit Innsbruck. Top of our list was a trip to the Bergisel Ski Jump, it's absolutely massive. Not a chance of me jumping off that ever, ever! The jumps which the contestants faced on Monday night were pretty big, but this is something else entirely. Coming down the run, the athletes would be faced with a view over Innsbruck to the mountains opposite, although I'm not sure how many of them would stop to draw breath an enjoy the view. 

The building was designed by Zaha Hadid, there was no jumping happening today but we went up to the cafe to inspect all of the architecture and have a nice hot chocolate. 

We spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around the town, trying to to remind our legs how to walk in normal shoes with our ankles moving independently from our knees. It was a nice feeling.
