"Are we there yet?"
I drove up to Scotland with Vinnie today for half-term. (Rachael and Victoria will join us tomorrow).
I usually think of it as a 12 hour drive, though quite often I make it in about 11. Today it took 14 and a half hours; we were stuck on the M40 for ages due to a major accident that closed the motorway, then had a to find our way across country to pick up the M1.
I took this about half an hour into the M40 jam, through the windscreen, when we were sitting stationary for minutes at a time.
Given I'd hardly any chance to take photos today, I was surprised to find myself agonising over which to blip! Coming off the motorway for our one stop at Southwaite services I spotted highland cattle ("hippy coos", as a French friend of my sister used to call them :) in a field, and after we parked I walked back and got a picture of this heavy breather. I decided to go with the patient pup in the traffic jam, though.
Apologies for my lack of comments - it's been a longer day than I expected, and I'm going off to bed! I'll try to catch up tomorrow.
