John Renbourn!

A grey old day back in auld reekie; hassle from the agency and then a visit to maw who has a chest infection and is really knocked a bit flat.
But then! Oi, Oi! A cracking gig! Who had come out of retirement but John Renbourn - and at seventy, his fingers are as nimble as ever. What great tunes and songs, but what tremendous reminiscences and anecdotes too. Stories about Mose Allison, Van Ronk, Alexis Korner, Bert Jansch of course, and observations on the gloominess of the inhabitants of Hawick. It just felt such a privilege to be there and hear it all.
And then straight home! Well, almost.
