Common Garter Snake
I was thinking this was something much more exotic than a common garter snake, as I had found it "in water" at Jackson Bottom Wetlands. I still think it is quite beautiful, and it certainly got everyone's attention.
The wetlands were flooded because of all the heavy rain, so there wasn't much area to actually hike around. But the view of the overall area is still beautiful. And there was a variety of waterfowl flying over and landing, although always off in the distance.
