Donut

The donut is a bronze statue on a groyne between the two piers.

Scientists believe the donut or torus shape is a good representation of the shape of the universe. Ours depicts the earth with the two poles pushed together, forming the torus shape. You can see the main continents if you get close as well as the lines of longitude. A Brighton bylaw states if you approach it you must stick your face up to the hole and have a photo taken... apparently.
