Town centre

I walked today through my local town centre and near where I grew up. 

This photo was taken on the canal basin - as used to be. If you look, I'm sure you can imagine how the place might have looked 50 years ago with healthy canal traffic and everything that would have gone with it.

In the 1960s/70s the canal was piped and the area concreted over. The walk is actually very nice, but I wish it was as it should be, a canal.

Not a five minute walk from here there's a ruined town centre - all pound shops and charity shops.

Sad stuff.
