A good walk
We decided to head out for a longer walk today, to the Simonside hills near Rothbury, where we were staying. It looked pretty straightforward, but we hadn't counted on the diversions due to the forestry work. First we ignored the diversion sign, not realising it affected our route, so we reached a blocked path and had to turn back. Then we saw a sign for the path we were supposed to be following, but found ourselves back at the car part far too quickly, having joined the route near the end. So, an hour later, we tried again, this time following all the diversion signs. Unfortunately by then it was getting rather misty...
This is probably my best photo of the day, but I thought the one of the path and my husband in the distance was a better record of the day. The dog and Iain are just in front, but totally swallowed up by the mist.
It was a great walk though, taking us up over some spectacular rock formations and hopefully the next time we visit, we will be able to see the views over the valley!
