Spring crocus

The gardening year has begun. I pruned three apple trees this morning, helped by CH, and he also dug out several huge brambles from around the trees. I am very tired now, and look as though I've been mud-wrestling - but it feels good to have made a start on the spring tasks.

While I was walking down to the wild garden I noticed a drift of purple crocus under the smoke bush and thought they were pretty enough to be today's blip. There are three more pics on Flickr.
