Follett Office

Mum was a lot better today, we'll have to see how things go over the next few days, and there is a lot to be thought about in terms of how she and Dad cope at home.

Going to Waitrose on the High St to top up on the food front, I noticed the next building down along the back road. It would have been at home on Birchwood Park, and had lot of signs on it all saying the same thing - the Follett Office. It turns out it is the HQ of the Ken Follett empire. He has apparently sold 150 million books world-wide (I am not one of them).His wife Barbara is CEO of the Office, and Stevenage's former MP.

When Stevenage votes Labour, they form the Government, when it votes Tory - they form the Government, so the 2015 result will be interesting. My favourite Stevenage MP was Shirley Williams, who has been in the news recently because of the film of her mother Vera Brittain's book, Testament of Youth. Which brings us back to books ..........
